How to Choose a Vibrator
There are thousands of vibrators, and they are not all the same. This guide covers the main types and the few details that decide whether you will like one.
Start with where you want it
External: bullets, wands and suction stimulators work on the outside. Internal: classic vibrators and dildos go inside. Both: rabbit vibrators have a shaft and a clitoral arm.
Check the material
Body-safe silicone is the most common choice because it is non-porous, smooth and easy to clean. Glass and stainless steel are also non-porous. Avoid materials the seller does not name, and be careful with porous plastics and rubber.
Power, noise and charging
Rechargeable toys are cheaper over time than battery ones. If privacy matters, look for descriptions that say quiet or whisper-quiet. If you plan to use it in the shower, look for a waterproof rating, not just splash-resistant.
Size and shape
For a first toy, a smaller one with a tapered tip is easier to enjoy. The length and girth on each item are measured, so compare them to something you already own.
Use the right lube
Water-based lube works with every toy. Silicone-based lube can break down silicone toys over time.
